Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and cargo vans, to transport catering orders across designated routes.
- Load and unload food and catering supplies using manual handling techniques when necessary.
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate, complete, and delivered on time by adhering to established routes and traffic regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while interacting with customers during delivery, providing excellent customer service at each stop.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, safe lifting practices, and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Use mobile devices or GPS systems for route navigation, delivery tracking, and communication with the dispatch team.
- Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and moving supplies within the facility.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred; experience with delivery driving in a commercial setting is highly valued.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans, box trucks, or commercial trucks is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly; familiarity with heavy lifting techniques is essential.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and adherence to DOT regulations for commercial vehicle operation.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and documentation during deliveries.
- Reliable transportation (personal vehicle or company vehicle) capable of supporting daily delivery schedules.
