Responsibilities
- Engage children and their families in a variety of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by maintaining vigilant supervision and adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage group behavior through positive reinforcement, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, and transitions between activities.
- Support campers with special needs or behavioral challenges by applying inclusive teaching methods and childhood development principles.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan and execute age-appropriate programming that promotes teamwork and personal growth.
- Provide basic first aid when necessary and communicate effectively with parents or guardians about camper progress or concerns.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education, childhood development, and special education practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to handle diverse behaviors with patience and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Passion for working with children and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere through sports coaching, childcare, or theater activities.
