About This Position At Dream Books Co.
We are looking for a strategic leader to own our logistics operations and serve as a critical face of our company to the public and our partners.
Our logistics team processes a high volume of community and vendor pick-ups, as well as BookBins on a daily basis. Your job is to decide how we map, route, and execute these logistics efficiently while providing exceptional customer experience.
This role goes beyond scheduling trucks; it is about elevating our community footprint. You will act as the primary liaison for incoming vendor calls and public pickup inquiries, using these touchpoints to deepen strong, long-term partnerships. You will lead and manage the driving team, continuously developing routing efficiencies while setting the gold standard for how our logistics team communicates with the public, donors, and vendors.
You will operate as the critical link between our warehouse and the community, ensuring every pickup request, donation, and community event reflects our core values.
This role is for someone who blends high-level operational analysis with a passion for fleet management, team leadership, and relationship building.
We are planning on filling this position by August 2026.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategic routing, dispatch, and execution of our fleet operations.
- Act as a primary liaison for incoming vendor calls and public inquiries related to material pickup.
- Take ownership of vendor pickups, using these touchpoints to actively deepen and maintain strong, long-term partnerships.
- Evaluate, audit, and elevate our current communication standards and customer experience strategy across the logistics team.
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable the transportation team, including conducting performance reviews, tracking driver KPIs, and facilitating driver development meetings.
- Plan highly efficient truck routes and utilize sensor data to analyze bin fill levels, balancing speed with high-quality service.
- Oversee fleet management and safety, including truck maintenance schedules (PMs), vehicle registrations, lease communications, and driver safety drills.
- Manage facility and equipment health, including the organization of tool sheds, pallet jack maintenance, dock cleanliness, and general warehouse machinery upkeep.
- 1 year of managerial or team leadership experience (on-the-job training will be provided).
- Previous driving experience, including 1 year of experience driving a 16β box truck or similar-sized vehicle.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and final candidates must pass a background check.
- Ability to operate technology such as GPS, back-up cameras, routing software, and intermediate computer functions.
- Strong communication skills and comfortability representing the company to the public and partners.
- Physically able to meet the requirements of the position, including lifting 20-40 lbs.
