Assistant Program Director (APD) – Full Time | DRCC Midway, Virginia

What You’ll Do:
As an Assistant Program Director, you’ll play a key role in supporting both the individuals we serve and the staff who care for them. Your responsibilities will include:
Direct Support Responsibilities
- Build respectful, trusting relationships with individuals served, promoting their rights and interests.
- Ensure health and safety while supporting personal growth and independence.
- Provide direct care, including assistance with personal hygiene, lifting/transferring, and daily living tasks.
- Collaborate on service plans and help implement personalized goals.
Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities
- Assist the Program Director with administrative duties such as scheduling, budgeting, medication ordering, grocery shopping, program writing, and documentation.
- Train, supervise, and provide day-to-day leadership to staff, fostering a positive and effective team environment.
- Maintain the home’s environment, equipment, and safety protocols in line with licensing standards and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
- A two-year degree in behavioral science or a related field, OR at least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Proficiency with computers, email, and business software.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current state-required auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check.
