We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our logistics team. Responsibilities
- Coordinate freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine, ensuring timely dispatching and delivery.
- Utilize GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall transportation planning.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including documentation, data entry, and inventory updates within AS400 and other logistics platforms.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Support fleet management activities by monitoring vehicle schedules, maintenance needs, and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Assist with logistics analysis to identify efficiencies in supply chain operations and recommend improvements for freight handling and dispatching procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery statuses, and transportation data to support reporting requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning methodologies.
- Familiarity with logistics operations including shipping & receiving, freight coordination, and fleet management.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data related to supply chain performance metrics.
- Prior experience in dispatching or coordinating freight within a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data entry tasks using AS400 or equivalent enterprise resource planning systems like SyteLine.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with internal teams and external partners.
