Senior Revenue Accountant (Oil & Gas)

Base Salary: $95,200 – $152,300
About the Company
Our client is a Denver-based upstream oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in Colorado and Wyoming. The company manages a large operated asset base and holds non-operated interests.
About the Role
The Senior Revenue Accountant owns a core piece of the monthly revenue cycle. The work includes allocating production revenue to working interest and royalty owners, processing non-operated revenue, filing severance and conservation tax reports, and supporting federal royalty payments. This role reports to the Revenue Accounting Supervisor. It's an individual contributor position for someone who already knows upstream revenue accounting and BOLO.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly revenue allocations for operated properties
- Process monthly payments for non-operated revenue
- Help prepare and file regulatory reports and severance/conservation tax reports with state and federal agencies
- Facilitate ONRR royalty payments for production from federal leases
- Track purchaser payments to confirm timely receipt, and tie them back to metered volumes
- Coordinate monthly owner royalty statements
- Answer questions from royalty and working interest owners
- Run monthly and ad hoc analyses of realized pricing and product yields
- Prepare revenue source documentation for audit requests, and support special projects
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- Upstream oil and gas experience
- 4 years of experience in a similar revenue accounting role
- Hands-on BOLO experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Advanced Excel skills

Schedule and Work Environment
- On-site in Denver, in an office setting. Candidates outside commuting distance are welcome to apply, but no relocation or travel assistance is offered.
- 9/80 schedule: 8:00–5:00 Monday through Thursday, and 8:00–4:00 on working Fridays. Occasional overtime and after-hours events may be required.
- Travel under 10%, including occasional field visits and some overnight stays for training or site visits.
- Field visits may involve weather, dust, fumes, and similar conditions. The role may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range of $95,200 – $152,300, depending on experience
