Drain Surgeons is growing, and we are looking for experienced, dependable professionals to join our team. We specialize in sewer inspections, drain cleaning, sewer repair and replacement, trenchless pipe bursting, hydro-jetting, and full-service plumbing.
SEWER CAMERA TECHNICIAN
The Sewer Camera Technician will inspect residential and commercial sewer systems, accurately document findings, explain the results to customers, prepare repair estimates, and help oversee sold projects from start to finish.
Job Duties:
- Perform sewer camera inspections of main sewer lines and branch lines.
- Identify offsets, separations, bellies, root intrusion, cracks, corrosion, blockages, damaged fittings, and collapsed piping.
- Operate sewer cameras, recording equipment, and electronic locating equipment.
- Accurately locate sewer lines, defects, cleanouts, and repair areas.
- Take clear inspection videos and photographs.
- Produce detailed, professional reports explaining the condition of the sewer system and recommended repairs.
- Clearly explain findings and repair options to homeowners, buyers, sellers, real-estate agents, and commercial clients.
- Create accurate estimates and present customers with repair options.
- Follow up consistently on outstanding estimates and customer questions.
- Maintain communication with the office regarding inspections, estimates, sold jobs, and customer concerns.
- Perform daily in-person checkups on active sewer projects.
- Confirm that each project is progressing properly and that the work meets company standards.
- Keep customers informed throughout the project and make sure they are satisfied with the work.
- Coordinate with technicians, foremen, office staff, contractors, and customers.
- Keep camera equipment, locating equipment, and company vehicles clean and properly maintained.
- Document all findings, conversations, estimates, and job progress in Housecall Pro.
- Follow all company safety procedures and protect the customer’s home and property.
Qualifications:
- Sewer camera inspection experience is strongly preferred.
- Must know how to properly operate a sewer camera and line-locating equipment.
- Plumbing, sewer, drain, or underground utility experience is preferred.
- Sales experience is required.
- Must be comfortable presenting estimates and asking customers for the work.
- Must be proficient with Housecall Pro or able to learn it quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to accurately explain technical sewer problems in language customers can understand.
- Reliable, skilled, hardworking, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Must communicate well with customers, technicians, project managers, and office staff.
- Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for assigned projects.
- Professional appearance and customer-service attitude.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be drug-free and able to comply with company policies.
- Must be able to lift and operate sewer inspection equipment and work in outdoor conditions.
