What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmer Extraordinaire position at Dragonfly Floral?
Now Hiring: Farmer Extraordinaire
Dragonfly Farm Floral | Healdsburg, California
Are you equal parts dirt-under-your-fingernails and design-in-your-heart?
Do you believe a perfectly timed dahlia harvest is a small miracle?
Can you pivot from field boots to networking without missing a beat?
If so, we’d love to meet you.
Dragonfly Farm Floral is a 6-acre organic flower farm in beautiful Healdsburg, California — and a full-service florist studio to boot. We grow it, design it, deliver it, and dream it up right here. Our days are full of muddy mornings, armloads of blooms, creative collaboration, and the occasional duck cameo.
We’re looking for a Flower Farmer who wants to help us grow (literally and creatively).
What You’ll Do
- Help re-envision and refine our gardens — new varieties, smarter systems, beautiful spaces
- Seed, plant, weed, harvest, and nurture our organic crops with care
- Support bouquet production and collaborate with our floral team
- Develop and expand value-added products (think dried florals, wreaths, farm goods, workshops, creative surprises)
- Assist with farm improvements and seasonal planning
- Jump in wherever needed — because farms don’t read job descriptions
Who You Are
- Experienced in farming and floral cultivation
- Creative and excited to experiment
- Team-focused — you thrive in collaboration
- Flexible and adaptable (weather, surprises, life!)
- Kind, grounded, and steady under pressure
- Strong enough to lift buckets (and much more) and wise enough to ask for help
- We value working smarter not harder
What It’s Like Here
- 6 acres of organically grown flowers, textures and produce
- A tight-knit, supportive team
- Equal parts hard work and beauty
- A business that values creativity as much as production
- Space for your ideas to take root
The Fine Print
This is physical, outdoor work in all seasons — sometimes hot, sometimes muddy, always meaningful. Flower farming can be romantic… and really real.
If you’re excited about cultivating both plants and possibility, we’d love to hear from you.
Send us a note about your experience and why you’re drawn to Dragonfly Farm Floral.
Tell us what you’d plant first if you had a blank field.
Who you are and why you think you’d be a good addition to the team.
Please email: flowers@DragonflyFloral.com
Please do not stop by unannounced.
Let’s grow something beautiful together. 🐝✨
- We are also looking for help picking roses 3-5 mornings a week during our growing season.
- Jill / Jack of all Trades to help occasionally with event set-ups and breakdowns, deliveries and other cleaning and organizing tasks around the farm.
