Role Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall execution, quality, and profitability of assigned projects—from initiation through completion—across multiple Dragon Products facilities. This includes oversight of tank fabrication and P&P (piping and process) projects, ensuring all deliverables meet customer specifications, budget, and schedule.
The role requires daily coordination with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales teams, as well as managing subcontractors and vendors as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management within the oil and gas fabrication/manufacturing sector, with proven ability to drive schedules, maintain compliance, and deliver results under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Leadership
- Own and direct the safe execution, quality, and profitability of projects from start to finish.
- Develop, monitor, and drive project schedules in coordination with the Plant Manager and Production teams.
- Participate in and support daily production meetings to align project deliverables and resolve constraints.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure all external work aligns with company standards and safety requirements.
- Track project progress through fabrication, inspection, and delivery phases to ensure on-time completion.
Material, Resource & Logistics Management
- Determine shop space, resource, and capacity requirements to meet project goals.
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Purchasing for timely procurement of materials.
- Identify materials to be purchased, review purchase orders, and expedite materials as needed.
- Oversee the shop pull process and coordinate ECN/excess material return activities.
- Ensure logistics scheduling and coordination of finished goods align with customer delivery timelines.
Engineering, Inspection & Quality Coordination
- Collaborate with Engineering and Design on drawings, revisions, and document control.
- Verify correct drawing revisions are issued and used by shop personnel.
- Work closely with QC and third-party inspectors to coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Ensure inspection results meet all applicable standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
Scope, Cost & Communication
- Manage project scope in accordance with Sales Orders and costing sheets.
- Identify and clarify scope discrepancies with Quoting and Commercial teams.
- Manage engineering changes, ECNs, and cost adjustments; support quoting on scope modifications.
- Provide weekly project status updates to Sales and Management.
- Support Sales during project calls and customer visits.
Inventory & Reporting
- Participate in monthly inventory counts of finished goods and project-related materials.
- Update finished goods and customer SharePoint records.
- Review and reconcile inventory variances related to assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in the Oil & Gas fabrication/manufacturing industry.
- Experience in expediting, inspection, and logistics required; experience with vessel and heater treater projects a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of tanks, pumping systems, and industrial equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
- Strong understanding of industry codes, safety standards, and quality regulations (API, ASME, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and project tracking tools.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
