Registered Dental Hygienist

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care and a commitment to providing high-quality dental hygiene services. This role involves working closely with dentists and patients to ensure optimal oral health and hygiene practices are maintained. The Dental Hygienist will play an essential role in educating patients about their dental health and assisting in various procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
• Assess patients' oral health by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and conducting patient assessments.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
• Conduct xray imaging as required for patient assessments and treatment planning.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Valid CA dental hygiene license and CPR certificate.
• Experience with Dentrix software is preferred.
• Knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, anatomy, infection control, and medical terminology is essential.
• Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review practices is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
