- Ensure accurate and timely submission of medical claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Verify coding accuracy by cross-referencing medical documentation, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and insurance requirements
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies or incomplete records
- Stay updated on changes in ICD coding standards, billing regulations, and healthcare policies to ensure ongoing compliance
Skills
