About Us
I am opening a growing primary care concierge practice focused on high-quality, personalized patient care. I am hiring a dependable, professional Medical Assistant to join me and help establish efficient clinical and front-desk workflows.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant will perform clinical support (including phlebotomy and specimen collection), routine MA duties, and basic front-desk responsibilities. This is a hands-on role requiring reliability, strong communication, flexibility, and comfort working in a startup practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
Office administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
- Opening/locking the office
- Front desk – greeting patients, checking them in, processing payments if applicable, reviewing demographic/contact information, assistance with appointment scheduling
- Answering phone calls
- General office housekeeping – ensuring cabinets and exam rooms are stocked, general tidying if needed
- Such reasonable additional administrative tasks as requested by the Practice
Patient care tasks, including but not limited to:
- Obtaining patient vital signs – blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, temperature, weight, height
- Reviewing and updating patient medical information – history, medications, chief complaint, preferred pharmacy
- Assisting with lab test sample collection – pap smears, blood draws, urine specimens
- Processing samples appropriately until they can be picked up by outside lab – centrifuge, storage
- Obtaining EKGs
- Calling patients with simple lab results or for general follow-up
- Communicating with pharmacies, specialists, or imaging centers as needed
- Any additional patient care-related tasks requested by the Practice
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited MA program OR equivalent clinical experience.
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy/blood draws and specimen handling.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in an outpatient primary care or clinic setting preferred.
- Proficient with electronic medical records; experience with scheduling and basic front-desk systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional phone manner.
- Reliable, flexible, team-oriented, and able to work independently in a small practice environment.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lift/move exam supplies and assist patients as needed.
Preferred
- Experience in concierge, direct primary care, or small private practice settings.
- Experience with care coordination, referrals, and prior authorizations.
Working Conditions
- Typical clinic hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM; occasional flexibility for phone coverage or practice needs.
- On-site position.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary $58,000–$65,000 per year, depending on experience.
