We are seeking an energetic and experienced client care coordinator for a friendly, busy, and fast-growing, multi-clinician psychotherapy practice. This is the perfect position for a psychology or social work student.
Responsibilities- Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments and procedures.
- Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information.
- Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
- Maintain and facilitate patient scheduling.
- General office management tasks, including routing of phone calls to clinicians, sorting mail, keeping up office supplies, and equipment
- Other duties deemed necessary by the office manager
- Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Must be available on weeknights and Saturdays.
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, and other payer requirements and systems.
- Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues.
- At least 2 years of administrative work experience.
- Proficiency with G-Suite, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- At least 2 years of medical billing experience is a plus.
- At least 2 years of patient care experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in any field preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting such as mental health, psychotherapy, or medical offices is a plus.
- Experience handling confidential patient information is a plus.
