Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other health plans, ensuring accurate billing and documentation review
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software; coordinate with providers to optimize daily clinic flow
- Assist patients with selecting eyewear by measuring PD , fitting glasses, and explaining lens options; operate optical equipment as an optician
- Maintain meticulous medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation of care plans and CPT coding
- Handle multi-line phone systems professionally, providing exceptional patient service and answering inquiries promptly
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry using Microsoft Office tools, and managing electronic health information through EMR/EHR systems.
- Proven experience in medical administrative support within a clinical or dental setting; clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures including Medicare claims processing
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive patient interactions
- Ability to handle sensitive health information securely in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, and maintaining accurate medical records
