Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Check-In Representative to join our dentalcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients entering our facility, ensuring a smooth and welcoming check-in process. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify their appointment details, and facilitate their check-in process using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Collect and review patient documentation, insurance information, and update medical records accurately in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and assist with insurance verification procedures for Medicaid, and private payers.
- Schedule appointments, reschedule follow-ups, and coordinate patient flow efficiently using medical scheduling software.
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, provide information about clinic services, and direct calls appropriately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
- Maintain organized filing of medical records and ensure compliance with health information management standards.
- Support front desk operations by managing clerical tasks such as data entry, and handling office supplies.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless care plans implementation and accurate documentation of patient interactions.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental/ medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred; clinic or dental office experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance processes including verification, billing procedures.
- Familiarity with dental terminology.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic health records management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
