We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using appropriate techniques.
- Manage patient records through EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain a clean and organized dental clinic environment.
- Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming atmosphere for young patients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Experience with medical imaging and understanding of medical coding/documentation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatrics.
