Summary

Under general supervision, assists in the operational duties for the sport assigned at California Baptist University.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage all video and baseball systems including but not limited to practices, games, B-A-T-s, Synergy and TrackMan.
  • Coordinate and process baseball specific analytics while ensuring compliance and provide related documentation.
  • Manage academics and standards which include but not limited to grade checks, eligibility reports, meetings, scheduling, ASC, out of class schedule, and study hall.
  • Coordinate with Admissions on-campus visits and incoming players.
  • Assist in on-campus recruiting and contacting qualified student athletes by phone, e-mail, or other permissible electronic communication.
  • Coordinate with Housing and Residence Life with setting up housing for incoming recruits and summer for current players.
  • Coordinate with coaches and other departments to facilitate player recruiting (visits, etc.) Call coaches on schedules, players, and events. Email database, online research. Create and manage recruiting mail-outs and contracts – ARMS database.
  • Organize and arrange all team travel. Adhere to all CBU travel policies which include room list, travel list, bus/van list, secure transportation, budget and meal money, boxed lunches, coordinate visiting teas and for us on road (call for BP times), set hotels, responsible for credit card reports.
  • Responsible for purchasing, ordering, travel bags, and keeping account of the teams equipment through reviewing inventory of returned and in storage equipment.
  • Contribute to the field preparation and maintenance as needed and serve as a facilities liaison.
  • Assist in organization and execution of practice schedules. Responsible for Plyometric- weight room, umpires, Fall-Winter stat coordinator, video coordinator, and scouting – assist in pre/post, CARA, discipline sheet.
  • Assist head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition using sound principles and judgment consistent with the philosophy of CBU Athletics.
  • Manage social media sites and coordinate community service events.
  • Adhere to all sport, institutional, conference and NCAA by-laws and regulations.
  • Attend all Department Compliance Meetings.
  • Coordinate with Ticketing Office for team pass lists.
  • Coordinate with Fan Engagement/Promotions office on group, youth leagues, and alumni events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers and Graduate Managers, in order to complete work assignments.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to travel, including domestic/international air travel, and work nights/weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
