Dental Assistant in Pediatric Office

Join our team! We are a pediatric dental office looking to add an experienced dental assistant. If you are organized, motivated, enthusiastic and professional, we would love to meet you! An energetic, multi-tasker who loves to smile and care for kids is a perfect fit for this position! You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while still showing attention to detail. A calm and compassionate presence is necessary to help young children through procedures! We are looking for the “right fit”, so previous pediatric dental experience is not a requirement.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 7:45 am- 4:30 pm,

and 2 Friday's a month: 7:15 am-noon

~ 24-26 hours per week.

Radiography license is required.

Experience with Dentrix is required.

Pediatric Dental Assistants help the Dentist with various procedures performed at chairside in the office, take and process oral x-rays, maintains various dental and patient care supplies and equipment; instructs patients regarding proper oral health and other preventive measures; performs charting and general documentation. Performs other duties and assignments as requested.

Job Duties

• Prepares for procedures/exams: Greets and escorts patient to operatory area; Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for procedures and exams; completes charting.
• Uses suction devices, water spray, cheek/tongue retractors to keep oral operating area clean during dental procedures; Prepares restorative materials and dental cements to be used during dental procedures; Takes and develops intra-oral radiographs; Assists Dentist with oral exams, cleanings, extractions, pulpotomies, crowns and fillings.
• Provides education and instruction; Educates regarding proper oral hygiene and overall dental preventative care.
• Maintains dental instruments; Sets up instruments for sterilization by packaging; Maintains disinfecting solutions according to protocol.
• Prepares and maintains chart documentation.
• Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctor which includes, but not limited to, charting and operatory set-up and clean-up.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment possessing excellent interpersonal skills such as establishing positive relationships with our team and patients.
• Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing.
• Take dental radiographs/x-rays when prescribed along with all other dental assisting tasks.
• Motivated to learn more and provide the best patient care at all times.

Job Qualifications
