Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including patient histories and treatment plans.
- Conduct X-ray imaging as required, following safety guidelines.
- Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory and waiting areas.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Stay updated on best practices in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and infection control.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices is an asset.
- Familiarity with dental systems and software for record management is desirable.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols in a clinical setting.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
- A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
