Welcoming and community rooted dental office is looking for a competent registered dental assistant to join our team. We are a local, independent practice where our patients are treated like family and our team operates like one. Dental assistants should be well-organized with attention to detail. Following instructions, respecting dental office regulations, and team oriented attitude are very important. Looking for someone skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and helping create a warm office environment. Typically a four day work week with Fridays off. Prior work experience not necessary if open to learning. All applications kept confidential.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients to the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist for dental procedures
- Take radiographs as instructed by dentist
- Undertake lab tasks (alginate impressions, models, etc)
- Keep the dental operatory clean and well-stocked
- Be a team player
Skills
- Registered dental assistant in state of Tennessee
- Radiology Certification for dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Knowledge of dental software and digital xray preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- High school diploma; completion or approaching graduation of dental assistant school or previous dental assisting experience
- Nitrous oxide monitoring training preferred
- Experience preferred but not required as long as applicant is open to learning
