Role Description The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Casselberry, FL. This role involves supporting providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and ensuring that patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visits. Daily responsibilities include updating and maintaining medical records, managing patient intake and documentation, and coordinating with the front office to support scheduling and follow-up care. The Medical Assistant also helps with basic laboratory tasks as allowed, processes prescriptions or referrals under provider direction, and assists in maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment. Consistent communication with patients and team members is essential to support efficient, high-quality care.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:


Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required or similar

Minimum 2 years of medical assisting experience

Primary Care / Family Medicine experience strongly preferred

Athena Health (AthenaOne) experience required

Certified in Phlebotomy with hands-on blood draw experience

Strong knowledge of specimen collection, including:- Proper

use of blood collection tubes and understanding tube colors for different laboratory tests

ssistant Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient information by interviewing patients, documenting medical history, and confirming the purpose of visits


  • Prepare patient charts by reviewing labs, imaging results, and HPI documentation prior to appointments


  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, temperature, and other preliminary assessments


  • Provide accurate patient history summaries to providers
  • Perform clinical tasks, including phlebotomy and specimen preparation for laboratory processing


  • Vaccines and injection administration


  • Perform EKG and PFT testing, alongside point of care tests


  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records while following HIPAA requirements


  • Communicate physician instructions and provide patient education as directed


  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant clinical environment


  • Manage clinical supplies by monitoring inventory, placing orders, and verifying deliveries


  • Maintain medical equipment by following operating procedures, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs when needed


  • Stay current with industry standards through continuing education and professional development


  • Take ownership of responsibilities and actively contribute to improving the patient experience and practice operations

Monday–FridayOffice operates from 7:00am -5:00pm

Friday is half day*

Day shifts only

No nights

Pay Range: $17.00–$19.00 per hour based on experience

Expected Hours: 40 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess skills in Medical Assisting, including taking vital signs, rooming patients, and supporting providers with examinations and procedures.


  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document encounters and communicate effectively with clinical staff.


  • Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office environment, including coordination with front-desk operations and basic administrative support.


  • Candidates should possess strong Patient Care skills, demonstrating empathy, clear communication, and attention to patient comfort and safety.


  • Candidates should possess skills in managing Medical Records, including accurate charting, electronic health record (EHR) use, and protecting patient confidentiality.


  • Formal training as a Medical Assistant; certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is preferred.


  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations.


  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
