What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician position at Dr Montgomery Family Eyecare Associates?
- Training provided; experience preferred but not required. Pay based on experience.

Responsible to Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
- Operate manual and digital lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients
- Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences. Interpret insurance benefits
- Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames
- Assist in meeting sales goals as determined by physician while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires
- Manage inventory of frames to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and product variety. Decorate frame board
- Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues
- Fitting frames to patients at time of dispensing
- Fill out and order safety forms for patients
- Place orders for patients with manufacturers and insurance companies with complete accuracy
- Call ready orders as needed
- Scans pertinent documents into computer
- Assist with answering phones and scheduling patient appointments.
- Respond to pager for patients in exam rooms
- Supervises no one
- Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings
- Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time
