Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Wound Care Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding wound care procedures and diagnoses to ensure proper billing and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Job Responsibilities
Review and analyze medical records related to wound care.
Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and payer guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
Assist in audits and quality assurance processes to improve coding accuracy.
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in wound care.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
