What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometry Private Practice - Licensed Optician/Experienced Optical Sales position at Dr Michael Campbell, OD/Optical Solutions?
Licensed Opticians and experienced optical sales individuals are needed for our private practice.
Duties:
- Interpreting the results of eye examinations, using prescriptions written by Optometrists
- Advising patients on frame weights, materials, styles and colors
- Recommending lenses, coatings and frames to suit patients’ needs
- Measuring patients to determine suitable types and styles of frames
- Adjusting frames so they fit properly
- Preparing orders for glasses by checking prescriptions, lens thickness and other specifications
- Making sure that orders for glasses and submission of vision insurance claims have been processed accurately
Skills:
- Experience in fitting, adjusting and dispensing frames
- Familiarity with optical products, vision insurances' materials benefits and claim submission
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly necessary for interpreting prescriptions and checking lenses
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly to patients
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
