Responsibilities
- Assist dentists with chairside procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans, adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and collecting vital signs to monitor overall health status.
- Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning optimally.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote ongoing wellness.
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix for efficient patient data management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to general dentistry and specialized fields such as endodontics and prosthodontics.
- Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
- Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and dental sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting for seamless patient care delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Knowledge of dental equipment operation, medical documentation practices, and medical terminology relevant to oral surgery and pediatric dentistry.
