Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, providing outstanding patient service and answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using dental office management software ensuring optimal clinic flow
- Verify insurance coverage accurately by performing insurance verification and benefits analysis.
- Review and process documentation including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, and care plans to ensure precise medical billing and coding compliance
- Manage dental/ medical records and health information with meticulous attention to HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality and security of patient data
- Assist with insurance claims submission, follow-up on unpaid claims, and perform collections related to outstanding balances
- Support clinic operations through administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, documentation review, and maintaining accurate dental/medical office records
Skills
- Extensive experience with dental office management software.
- Strong knowledge of dental/ medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, Medicare policies, and health information management practices
- Proven ability in insurance verification, medical billing, collections, and documentation review to ensure accurate revenue cycle management
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities preferred (but no required) for diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), filing, and multi-line phone system operation
- Clinic or dental experience combined with front desk or medical receptionist background is highly valued
- Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining a friendly demeanor under pressure
