POSITION SUMMARY
What You Will Do:
- Teach rigorous curriculum to all scholars, regardless of proficiency, that is standards-aligned and ensures critical thinking.
- Design and implement assessments that measure progress toward mastery.
- Use data daily, weekly, and monthly to drive instructional practices.
- Engage in frequent and open collaboration and communication with colleagues around lesson planning, instructional observations, and scholar data.
- Consistently enforce and uphold the school’s values, policies, and culture.
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in network-wide functions and three-week staff orientation.
- Model the behavior and excellence we expect from our scholars.
- Direct educational assistants and volunteers to provide an effective classroom culture and address the needs of individual students.
- Perform other duties assigned by the school leadership team.
KPI GOALS:
Enhance Student Learning & Development
Goal: Ensure that 90% or more of High School students meet or exceed literacy and numeracy benchmarks by the end of the academic year.
Implement engaging, research-based teaching strategies, monitor student progress, and provide targeted interventions as needed.
Strengthen Family & Community Partnerships
Goal: Achieve a 95% or higher family engagement rate in school activities and conferences.
Maintain consistent and transparent communication with families, invite parents to participate in school events, and offer workshops that support early childhood development.
Foster a Positive & Inclusive Classroom Culture
Goal: Maintain a classroom environment where 100% of High School students feel safe, supported, and eager to learn.
Utilize positive reinforcement strategies, implement social-emotional learning activities, and create a welcoming space for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field or a related field.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in theatre or performing arts education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
Desired:
- Wisconsin Teaching License in Theatre, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Experience working in a charter school or urban education setting.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Experience with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around a classroom for extended periods.
- Dexterity for hands-on activities such as cutting, drawing, and using learning manipulatives.
- Ability to lift and carry classroom materials and equipment as needed.
Other Requirements:
- Occasional evening or weekend hours for family engagement events and meetings.
