Key Responsibilities
- Administers Diagnostic Tests:
- Performs full audiological diagnostic evaluations for hearing loss and tinnitus diagnosis and treatment.
- Conducts Immittance testing including tympanometry and acoustic reflex threshold testing.
- Interprets test results and provides reporting to physicians and other medical professionals.
- Cochlear Implant evaluation and programming.
- Vestibular testing (VNG).
- Hearing Aid Evaluation and Fitting:
- Counsels patients regarding test results and develops a customized hearing care plan.
- Selects, programs, and verifies the appropriate hearing aid technology to meet individual patient needs.
- Provides ongoing management including follow-up and education, hearing aid checks, adjustments, repairs, and cleanings as necessary.
- Professional and Community Outreach:
- Participates in marketing outreach and grows positive relationships with colleagues, vendors, healthcare practitioners, and community organizations.
- Presents informational sessions regarding hearing loss, treatment options, and technology to local community groups, facilities, and medical professionals.
Qualifications
- AuD degree.
- Current Virginia Audiologist License (or ability to obtain one by time of hire).
- Interest in treating individuals with tinnitus, hyperacusis, and misophonia.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective working relationships with diverse populations.
- Strong keyboard, computer, audiology diagnostic, and hearing aid software experience.
- Organized, able to multi-task, and detail-oriented.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to attend training conferences, approximately 2-3 days once or twice a year.
