Job Description
Job Title: Clinical Skills Observer (CSO)
Location: Cowan Campuses
Reports To: Assessment Center Coordinator
FLSA Status: Part-time

SUMMARY
A Clinical Skills Observer (CSO) is a Registered Nurse who administers clinical skills examinations to candidates for health-related certifications, specifically CNA, AUA, and DDCA testing. This contract will be flexible as needed and paid per exam.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluate candidates in a fair and objective manner on critical skills related to CNA, AUA, and DDCA
- Follow all policies and procedures set by the Oklahoma Health Certification Project (HCP) and their test
- Ensure confidentiality and maintain security of all testing
- Work with volunteers who will be "patients" for the
- Prepare the examination area and make sure all equipment is in working
- A CSO's role is to observe and evaluate, not to teach candidates how to perform skills or offer
Other
- Testing is scheduled Monday – Friday during the hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm as needed with a flexible daily
- Be available at least two days per month and more days during April and May when the majority of our students will need to test.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Interact with, ask and respond to questions, and direct assessments with student candidates. Complete required OSDH paperwork.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required: Registered Nurse with unrestricted license and at least one year of experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license. At least one year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is also required.
