Optometric Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the optometrist in providing exceptional patient care while helping maintain an efficient and professional office environment.
The Optometric Technician will play an important role in the patient experience by performing preliminary testing, obtaining patient histories, maintaining accurate medical records, assisting with diagnostic testing, and supporting the overall workflow of the office. The candidate must be professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary testing and obtain patient medical and ocular histories, including vital signs when appropriate.
- Assist the optometrist with comprehensive eye examinations.
- Operate diagnostic and pretesting equipment and perform preliminary eye tests.
- Accurately document patient information, test results, and medical records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements.
- Assist with medical billing, insurance verification, and accurate coding for insurance claims.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care, insertion and removal, and eyewear maintenance.
- Assist with contact lens trials and related patient needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinic environment.
- Help ensure an efficient patient flow and positive patient experience.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the optometrist and office team.
Salary : $18 - $21
