Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake, check-in, and check-out processes using dental-specific EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Verify insurance coverage
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental scheduling software, coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily clinic flow.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately.
- Maintain and update patient records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review.
- Process payments and handle billing procedures.
- Support billing activities by reviewing documentation for accuracy, ensuring proper coding for procedures related to dental care plans or dental services.
- File and organize dental records efficiently while maintaining confidentiality; assist in data entry tasks such as typing reports or updating health information management systems.
- Assist with office management duties including inventory management of supplies, maintaining filing systems, and supporting overall front desk operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist within dental setting; Dental experience is must.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology.
- Familiarity with systems such as Dentrix, or Dentrix ascend; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally via phone and in person.
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and perform insurance verification efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and record keeping.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Office experience in a healthcare environment combined with clerical experience including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and appointment scheduling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information management; understanding of medical administrative support best practices.
- Demonstrated computer skills including familiarity with multi-line phone systems, typing speed, and proficiency in office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
