Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as basic wound care, adhering to safety protocols.
- Support medical documentation efforts by maintaining precise records of patient encounters, treatments, and procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and administrative duties to optimize clinic operations and enhance patient service experiences.
- Assist with laboratory tasks including specimen collection, processing, and ensuring proper handling of specimens for testing.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across various specialties such as dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in medical office environments with a focus on outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical assisting tasks such as taking vital signs, EHR/EHR management, ICD coding, and medical documentation.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to medication administration and patient safety protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping and documentation is essential.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required or preferred.
