About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our ophthalmology practice in Jeffersonville, IN. This position plays a key role in supporting our physicians and ensuring exceptional patient care. Candidates may be required to travel between clinics.
Responsibilities
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain sterile environments
- Perform preliminary eye tests (visual acuity, tonometry, etc.)
- Document patient history and update electronic health records
- Educate patients on eye care and post-procedure instructions
- Manage scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Preferred: Previous experience in a medical practice or ophthalmology setting
- Willing to Train: Motivated candidates with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to learn
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
