Relationship Development & Business Growth

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Relationship Banker is responsible for growing and deepening customer relationships through proactive outreach, consultative sales conversations, and exceptional service. This individual serves as a trusted financial partner, helping customers achieve their financial goals by identifying needs and recommending appropriate banking products and solutions.

Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, a passion for helping customers, and a commitment to generating new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and community involvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with consumer and small business customers.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Grow deposits by recommending products and services that meet customer needs.
  • Generate referrals to commercial banking, commercial lending, and treasury management.
  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and business development activities to promote the bank and generate new relationships.
  • Establish and maintain a pipeline of prospects and referral opportunities'

Sales & Financial Conversations

  • Conduct comprehensive financial conversations to understand customer goals and banking needs.
  • Recommend appropriate deposit accounts, digital banking services, and other financial solutions.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed individual sales, referral, and relationship growth goals.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate customer relationships with the bank.

Account Opening & Onboarding

  • Open and service consumer and small business deposit accounts.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new customers.
  • Assist customers with digital banking enrollment and adoption.
  • Maintain complete and accurate account documentation in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience during every interaction.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for banking needs.
  • Anticipate customer needs and provide proactive solutions.

Compliance & Risk Management Qualifications

  • Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, Regulation CC, and other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure all account documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Protect customer confidentiality and information security.

Qualification

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in banking, financial services, sales, or relationship management.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, business development, or relationship-building roles.
  • Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience opening consumer and business accounts.
  • Knowledge of deposit products and digital banking services.
  • Experience working in a retail banking environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
