What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treatment Coordinator position at Dr. B Smiles?
Treatment Coordinator – Orthodontic Practice
Are you ready to work somewhere you genuinely enjoy coming to every day?
Our growing orthodontic practice is looking for an exceptional Treatment Coordinator to join our team—and for us, finding the right person is about much more than what's on a résumé.
Personality is key.
We are looking for someone who is warm, outgoing, confident, positive, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people. Someone who can make a nervous patient feel comfortable, build trust with parents and families, and bring energy and enthusiasm to every interaction.
Orthodontic experience is a plus, but it is absolutely not required. We can teach you orthodontics. What we can't teach as easily is personality, work ethic, emotional intelligence, and a genuine desire to help people.
What Does a Treatment Coordinator Do?
As our Treatment Coordinator, you will be one of the most important people a new patient meets in our practice. You will help guide patients and families from their initial consultation through their decision to begin orthodontic treatment.
You'll work closely with our doctor and clinical team to create an exceptional new-patient experience. You'll get to know our patients and their goals, help them understand the treatment being recommended, explain fees, insurance benefits, and payment options, answer questions, address concerns, and help families determine the best way to move forward with treatment.
This position requires the ability to combine great customer service with confident communication and sales skills. You should be comfortable discussing money, presenting financial options, following up with patients who have not yet started treatment, and helping families overcome obstacles that may be preventing them from moving forward.
Most importantly, we want every patient to leave their consultation feeling that they were listened to, cared for, and excited about their experience with our practice.
What Does the Right Fit Look Like?
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a warm, upbeat, and outgoing personality
- Loves talking with and getting to know people
- Communicates confidently and professionally
- Is comfortable presenting treatment fees and financial options
- Has strong sales skills or the ability to confidently guide people through decisions
- Is an excellent listener and can recognize and address patient concerns
- Is organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent time manager
- Can document conversations and patient information accurately
- Works independently while also being a great team player
- Is dependable and consistently available
- Approaches problems with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Adapts well when situations change
- Is willing to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
- Takes pride in their work and the experience they provide to patients
Orthodontic or dental experience is a bonus, but not necessary. Customer service, hospitality, sales, financial presentation, or other people-focused experience can translate extremely well to this position.
Compensation & Opportunity for Growth
We believe that exceptional performance should be recognized and rewarded.
Starting base pay is $24–$28 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, plus an established performance-based bonus structure.
This is not intended to be a position where your compensation remains stagnant. As you gain experience, demonstrate success in the role, and contribute to the growth of the practice, there is opportunity for increased compensation, additional responsibility, and professional advancement.
Success in this position is not simply about completing tasks. We value your ability to create an exceptional patient experience, communicate effectively, work as part of our team, and help patients confidently move forward with treatment.
