Psychiatric Experience: 2 years (Required)
DEA Certification (Required)
Possession of a current valid unrestricted license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse issued by the State of Nevada, Board of Nursing; Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; sit and pass the ANCC national certification exam and maintain licensure and certification while practicing. (Required)
Master's/Doctor’s degree (Required)
Ability to prescribe Controlled Substances (scheduled 2-5) (Required)
Must carry and maintain individual malpractice insurance. (Required)

SUMMARY
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners’ (PMHNP) offer primary care services to the
psychiatric-mental health population. PMHNP’s assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders or the potential for such disorders using their full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and administration of psychotherapy. We are very flexible with your preferred schedule M-F.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess, Diagnose and treat common acute psychiatric problems, illness, and crises
Psychopharmacologic management in collaboration with psychiatrist
Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy
Care for and counsel clients with common identified chronic psychiatric conditions
Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary services for clients with complex psychiatric
problems
Monitor common health care problems and refer for specialized medical treatment as
needed
Provide comprehensive family psychiatric-mental health education
Work with clients and their families in anticipation of developmental milestones, life cycle
events
Perform or recommend age-appropriate screening procedures
Promote wellness-oriented self-care
Advocate for family psychiatric-mental health clients and their families
SKILLS, ABILITIES JOB AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT REQUIREMENTS:
Comfortable prescribing for anxiety, depression, insomnia, bi-polar 2 and other
psychiatric/mental health diagnoses
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
Provider needs to be able to hit the ground with maximum competence
Strong verbal and written communication
Empathetic & intuitive listener
Rapport building in person or virtual/telehealth platform
Must possess strong skills in Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, Treatment Plans and
Prior Authorization documentation. Possess skills in review clinical records to evaluate the
necessary level of patient care, medication management, and record-keeping for
organizational and administrative purposes.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to clients, peers, and colleagues
Must have superior problem solving and decision-making skills as well as strong analytical
skills.
Excellent management and leadership skills.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment.
