Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between patients and the clinical team, ensuring smooth administrative operations and excellent patient service. The Treatment Coordinator will manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, treatment planning, and documentation review, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of patient care.
Duties
- Coordinate patient appointments, treatment plans, and follow-up care using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or other EHR platforms.
- Review and update patient medical and dental records ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist patients with understanding treatment options, financial arrangements, and insurance processes to promote treatment acceptance.
- Prepare and review documentation related to CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing procedures for accurate record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with patients via multi-line phone systems, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Support front desk operations including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation review and adherence to health information management standards.
- Maintain familiarity with dental terminology, care plans, medical office procedures, and office management protocols to streamline clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office setting is preferred; clinic or dental clinic experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance verification processes.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10-key), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry.
- Outstanding communication skills—bilingual abilities are a plus—and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
