Patient Care Coordinator / Patient Care Technician (Hybrid)
At Doctors of Physical Therapy, our support team is the backbone of our clinics. We are seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator / Patient Care Technician (PCC/PCT) Hybrid to deliver exceptional customer service and enhance the overall patient experience at our clinic location. This hybrid role combines front desk administrative responsibilities with direct patient support in the clinic. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates and individuals with medical knowledge or experience are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) Duties
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain schedule accuracy
- Complete new patient registration and data entry
- Verify and update patient information and records
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances
- Perform scanning, faxing, and other clerical duties
- Complete reports and assist with remote front desk operations as directed by the Front Desk Supervisor
Patient Care Technician (PCT) Duties
- Assist with patient care activities as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Support clinic operations and patient flow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas (light housekeeping duties)
General Responsibilities
- Greet patients and create a welcoming, professional environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, clinicians, and team members
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding their visits and care
- Review patient charts to ensure accuracy of data entry
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient workflow
- Ensure timely communication with patients and referral sources
- Maintain knowledge of outpatient rehabilitation services and medical terminology
- Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Understand and explain insurance benefits to patients
Qualifications
- Prior medical or healthcare experience preferred
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with patients and the community
- Self-motivated with a desire for long-term career growth
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
