In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the executive director, the program associate I - Logistics is responsible for ensuring the proper and timely delivery of our satellite food delivery system. Responsible for all equipment and vehicles involved in the food delivery system. Oversee the routine maintenance and repair of district food service equipment and facilities and coordinates kitchen support with Office of School Nutrition leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Management or related field.
- Be ServeSafe certified or have the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical support experience required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritize request with professionalism and empathy.
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly, proposing and implementing thoughtful solutions to problems.
- Sttrong, effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft 365 products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Proven experience managing projects required, including coordination of resources and communication to stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and kitchen facility operations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee food delivery drivers and the logistics of satellite food deliveries as well as the transportation of equipment between schools.
- Oversee and manages the request and tracking of equipment maintenance, utilizing School Dude and other maintenance tracking software.
- Provides support to the Information Technology Program Supervisor.
- Routinely visiting schools offering Point of Sale system support, Time Clock support, and monitoring kitchen equipment needs.
- Manages the routine maintenance and repairs of the Office of School Nutrition (OSN) vehicles and kitchen facilities and responsible for the tracking and documentation of completed work.
- Ensure departments compliance with district vehicle policies and procedures.
- Vendor management including tracking and documentation of completed work.
- Assist executive director with special projects and reporting.
- Oversee operations of OSN's designated warehouse space which house our equipment and supplies.
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned and as needed.
