Job Description Employer Name: DPR Construction, A General Partnership (DPR Construction) Position: Project Manager Work location: Charlotte, North Carolina Job Duties: Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Participation and application of DPR’s Environmental Health and Safety Plan to constantly maintain injury-free environments including performing weekly safety audits. Understanding and enforcement of contracts, including between DPR and subcontractors as well as DPR and the owner. Assist the superintendent and project manager in the implementation of DPR policies and the execution of the project. Organizing the duties of other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other assigned project staff. This includes providing direction, prioritization, and performance feedback. Participation in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth. Organizing and electronically archiving project files for easy access by the project team. Preparation, monitoring, and updating project schedules using prior knowledge of scheduling software such as Microsoft Project. Utilize mechanical/industrial engineering knowledge to work with the superintendent to reduce project constraints’ impact on the schedule especially due to procurement delays by utilizing Supply Chain Management principles. Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of various document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs. Distribution of new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties. Identifying, assembling, negotiating, and distributing change orders to both the owner and subcontractors. Preparing agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and actions for various meetings including owner/architect/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings. Participating in project cost control. This includes maintaining internal records and working with subcontractors to make sure changes are getting paid. Preparing owner billing by assembling DPR costs, receiving and reviewing subcontractor invoices and organizing the documents in accordance with the owner’s requirements. Monitoring testing and inspection record and reports, safety inspection and accident logs and reports, record building permit inspections and sign-offs. Using mechanical/industrial engineering knowledge, complete bid proposals submitted to owner for review. This includes the coordination with subcontractors and team members to gather accurate pricing. Using Engineering Building Information Modelling software such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 to assist in coordination efforts between different construction disciplines. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR’s Charlotte, North Carolina office. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Industrial Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a project/mechanical engineer-related occupation. Skill Requirements: Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills: Phase and schedule all procurement items (ranging from mechanical to finish material) to arrive onsite when needed using Supply Chain Management concepts such as Just-in-Sequence and Agile modelling. Organize and participate in cost control measures adapting technologies such as WinEst, CMIC, SAGE, or Excel to manage resource planning and financial record keeping. Support, adapt, and execute all safety regulations to maintain an incident free environment by enforcing required PPE’s and signage plans according to safety guidelines from AHJ (Authority having jurisdiction). Facilitate and coordinate B2B and B2C relationships throughout a project timeline by collaborating through calls, emails, and via software such as CMIC or proprietary communication means. Position also requires at least 1 year of experience in each of the following skills: Organize and file all document control entities such as meeting minutes, schedule updates, inventory logs, submittals, RFI’s, and procurement logs using software like CMIC, Procore. Prepare, monitor, and update project schedules after coordinating with sub-contractors and suppliers using Microsoft Project, Excel, Oracle P6, or Smartsheet. 8. Engineer and interpret MEP related construction requirements such as plumbing piping and instrumentation diagram (PI&D) and HVAC system using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor Drive continuous improvement efforts by employing lean six sigma concept such as Kaizen, kanban, and Fishbone diagram to identify and eliminate non-value adding work employing software such as Minitab and Excel. Plan and coordinate clash detection activities of construction/engineered drawings using Building management software such as Naviswork, Revit, and AutoCAD. 11. Collaborate with subcontractors and team members to complete PreCon proposals submitted to owner.
