Job Description Employer Name: DPR Construction, A General Partnership (DPR Construction) Position: Project Manager (Civil/Construction) Work location: Columbia, MD Wage: $121,846 - $140,000 / per year* Job Duties: Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Participation and application of DPR’s environmental health and safety plan to constantly maintain injury-free environments including performing weekly safety audits. Mentor, develop and train team members for fast-paced growth. Management of other project engineer team members. Understanding and enforcement of contracts, including between DPR and subcontractors as well as DPR and the owner. Assist superintendent and project manager in the implementation of DPR policies and the execution of the project. Organizing the duties of other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other assigned project staff. This includes providing direction, prioritization, and performance feedback. Participation in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth. Organizing and electronically archiving project files for easy access by the project team. Preparation, monitoring, and updating project schedules. Working with the superintendent to impact the schedule with project constraints. Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of various document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs. Distribution of new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties. Identifying, assembling, negotiating, and distributing change orders to both the owner and subcontractors. Preparing agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and actions for various meetings including owner/architect/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and staff meetings. Participating in project cost control. This includes maintaining internal records and working with subcontractors to make sure changes are getting paid. Preparing owner billing by assembling DPR costs, receiving and reviewing subcontractor invoices and organizing the documents in accordance with the owner’s requirements. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a construction engineering-related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills: Review all subcontractor and vendor shop drawings, product data, samples, manuals, etc. for compliance with contract documents. Prepare owner billing by assembling costs, receiving and reviewing subcontractor invoices, and organizing the documents in accordance with the owner’s requirements. Update billing and tracking and forecast project budgets. Prepare, monitor, and update construction project schedules; and work with the superintendent to reduce the impact of project constraints on the schedule. Prepare, maintain, and implement various document control entities (i.e. documentation, logs, and information related to a construction project), including daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs. Distribute new drawings, change orders, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project-related information to all affected parties. Manage change of orders, including preparation, notification to all relevant parties and follow-up. Manage all areas of procurement: schedule the purchase and delivery of all construction project-related materials, and long lead subcontract items. Regularly review and monitor construction project inspection and testing records; safety inspection and accident logs/reports; building permit inspection records and sign-offs. Oversee technical matters, including detailing and preparing Shop Drawings, participating in job layout, reviewing all subcontractor and vendor work product for contractual compliance and coordination, and serving as point of contact and resolution for all parties regarding conflicts, issues, etc. * Reflects annual base salary.
