What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at DPI Labs, Inc.?
This position is considered Safety Sensitive per CFR Title 14 Part 120 Drug and Alcohol Testing Program § 120.105 Employees who must be tested. This position must remain in compliance under (e) of this regulation, aircraft maintenance and preventive maintenance.
The Quality Control Inspector inspects electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.
- Examine layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassembly errors.
- Compare assembly with parts list to detect missing components.
- Examine joints and pull wires and cables to locate soldering defects.
- Examine alignment of parts and measure parts for conformance to specified dimensions.
- Twist dials, knobs, shafts, and gears to verify freedom of movement.
- Trace cables and harness assemblies, following cable wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards.
- Inspect plated areas for cosmetic appearance.
- Verify location of bolt and rivet holes and other measurements as shown on the drawing.
- Examine parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, and pinholes.
- Examine production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performed according to specifications.
- Read and understand blueprints and specifications.
- Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
- Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly.
- Inspect and test materials or products being produced, i.e.: machine parts, sheet metal, soldering, electronic components.
- Conduct First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102, weekly audits.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Create Non-Conformance reports and statistical analysis of quality data
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have aerospace experience.
- Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 is required.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing in English.
- Basic math proficiency is required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a high school diploma
- Minimum of Two (2) years of industry experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None, currently this position does not require certification. However, certification may be required in the future.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift a maximum of 45 lbs without harming oneself. This position requires bending, stooping, lifting, pulling, reaching, kneeling, standing and sitting for periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Machine shop / light manufacturing environment. The noise is usually quiet to moderate.
