Designed by a parent for parents, the space features a massive sandbox with a wide variety of toys, a unique sand conveyor belt, and a dedicated kinetic sand area for extra creativity. Caregivers can enjoy a comfortable lounge with a barista-quality coffee bar, used book library, and self-serve snack counter. Doze and Dig aims to be a welcoming, judgment-free “go-to” destination where families can choose to play together in the sand or relax nearby while their children explore.
Role Description As a Crew Member & Party Host at Doze and Dig, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and fun experience for children and their caregivers. This part-time, on-site role is based in Omaha, NE and includes greeting guests, processing admissions, answering questions, and explaining play area rules in a friendly and supportive way. You will help set up, host, and clean up birthday parties and special events, including coordinating activities, keeping the schedule on track, and ensuring guests feel engaged and cared for. Daily responsibilities include tidying and sanitizing play spaces and equipment, restocking supplies and snacks, and monitoring the sandbox and lounge areas to support safety and positive interactions.
Qualifications
- Comfort working directly with young children and caregivers, including engaging kids in play, redirecting behavior kindly, and communicating clearly with adults.
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills, with the ability to remain patient, friendly, and professional in a busy, high-energy environment.
- Event or party hosting experience, including organizing activities, managing timelines, and coordinating with families or groups.
- Reliability and time-management skills, including consistent attendance, punctuality, and the ability to follow checklists and procedures.
- Comfort with light cleaning and sanitizing tasks to maintain a clean and safe play environment throughout each shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift light to moderate items (such as toys, party supplies, and snack inventory) during a shift.
- Basic point-of-sale or retail experience is helpful; comfort learning simple technology systems (e.g., booking or payment platforms).
- Prior experience in childcare, education, camps, hospitality, or recreation is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is essential.
- CPR and Food Handler certifcations will be required and reimbursed.
