- JOB SUMMARY:** Reporting to the Accounting Director, the Senior Project Accountant will work on accounting and compliance-related projects in areas of accounting and reporting systems, internal controls, audits, accounting standards implementation, and policies and procedures. This role will also be responsible for moderately complex accounting activities for multiple companies.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
**Accounting**
- Accounting for special transactions and projects
- Support senior members of the accounting team with accounting projects, including accounting standards evaluation and implementation
- Review and update accounting procedures and process documentation
- Conduct moderately complex accounting studies
- Accounting for capital assets and investments
- Preparation of reconciliations and journal entries
- Support the implementation and compliance with reporting standards
- Assist with the preparation of various consolidations and financial statements
- Review budget to actual reports for unusual variances
- Participate in multiple annual external audits
- Compile financial reports and schedules
- Participation in the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Involvement in accounting and reporting system implementation
- Develop and work with complex accounting spreadsheets
- Meet deadlines, organize work materials, and manage time effectively
- Ability to work occasional overtime is required
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, of which two (2) years must be in public accounting
- Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- Proven experience with financial reporting and project management
- Familiarity with internal control processes
- Strong managerial and interpersonal skills
- Experience using Microsoft Excel
- Corporate/operational accounting experience
- Accounting experience in mid-to-large sized company
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT:** The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
