Doylestown Gold Exchange & Jewelers is a trusted, family-owned jewelry and precious metals retail and buying store. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused part-time associate to join our team.
Position Details
- Hours: Part-time, hourly (26–33 hours per week)
- Schedule: 3–4 weekdays plus at least 3 Saturdays per month (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Schedule Flexibility: While this role features a consistent weekly baseline, the ability to occasionally adjust days or cover a shift for team vacations or emergencies is a key expectation of the position.
- Store Hours: Mon–Fri: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM | Sat: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (No nights or major holiday retail hours)
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and answer phone calls.
- Assist customers with buying and selling jewelry, coins, bullion, and watches.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and strict adherence to store operational standards and intake protocols.
- Showcase jewelry, assist with retail sales, and process transactions.
- Sort, organize, and inventory jewelry and precious metals.
- Take in jewelry repairs and perform basic service tasks (e.g., watch battery replacements) after training.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, secure, and organized storefront.
Qualifications
- Friendly, highly trustworthy, and dependable with a professional, welcoming demeanor.
- Fast learner who is willing, enthusiastic, and takes direction and constructive instruction well, with a strong commitment to following established store protocols.
- Adaptable and team-oriented, with the scheduling flexibility mentioned above.
- Strong attention to detail and absolute comfort handling high-value items.
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable working directly with the public.
- Strong basic math and administrative skills for processing transactions accurately.
- Jewelry, precious metals, or high-end retail/hospitality experience is a plus, but an enthusiastic willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt is what matters most.
