Armed Security Officer - Active/Retired Law Enforcement Only

Doyle Security Services (DSS) is seeking ACTIVE/RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WITH Security supervisor experience, for school in Flushing, NY.

LOCATION: Flushing, NY

SHIFTS AVAILABLE: 

Monday - Wednesday 0800-1700 Pay Rate: $42 an hour 

Thursday 0800-1700 & Friday 0800-1400 Pay Rate: $42 an hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a professional and experienced Armed Security Officer, must be ACTIVE OR RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT with prior supervisory experience to provide a safe and secure environment within a school setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring school premises, responding to emergencies, enforcing safety procedures, and maintaining a visible security presence to protect students, staff, and visitors. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to supervise and support a team of security officers, excellent communication, sound judgment, and the capability to de-escalate incidents effectively while ensuring compliance with all school policies and security protocols. Candidates must be able to demonstrate professionalism at all times and have experience working in fast-paced environments.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide a safe secure environment for students, staff and guests inside the school.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with parents, students, staff and community members.
• Supervisor a team of officers
• Ensure safety and efficient reporting:
• Monitor hallways, stairwells, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff and the security of the facility.
• Assist with fire drills, crises and other emergency building evacuations and situations.
• Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
• Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations.
• Supervise and direct student movement during arrival and dismissal.
• Update security records, logs, and reports.
• Ensure all doors and gates are locked and that all alarms are engaged at designated times.
• Assist staff and emergency personnel in handling emergencies and deescalating disruptive situations that may arise on campus.
• Assist in daily operational duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be Active or Retired Law Enforcement with supervisory experience
• Valid NYS Armed Guard License.
• HR-218 
• Active / Retired ID
• Conceal Carry
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• High School Diploma / GED required.
• 5-7 Year U.S. work history may be required.
• Must be able to understand the English language and communicate effectively in both the verbal and written form.
• Must be physically able to perform the tasks required by the position.
