Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse to join our team on the Day Shift, providing exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. This vital role involves delivering comprehensive nursing services, ensuring patient safety, and supporting recovery through expert assessment and compassionate intervention. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine immediate needs and ongoing care plans.
- Administer medications via injection, IV infusion, and other routes while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and chronic conditions such as geriatrics or long-term care.
- Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, phlebotomy, and sterile processing.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), trauma centers, or outpatient clinics to coordinate patient treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards while maintaining the highest levels of infection control and patient safety.
- Support discharge planning, case management, health coaching, and education tailored to individual needs across pediatric to geriatric populations.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, critical care units (ICU/PICU), emergency rooms, or surgical units.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s care needs, behavioral health challenges, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine.
- Background in medical-surgical nursing, internal medicine, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments is highly valued.
- Skilled in performing diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing (phlebotomy), sonography, or basic imaging procedures like mammography or gastroscopy.
- Critical care experience including ventilator management, airway management techniques, trauma medicine protocols or post-acute care is advantageous.
