FOOD SERVER - Downtown Terrace at Container Park

Job Summary: The Food Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a dining establishment. This role involves taking customer orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The Food Server must have strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness of the dining area, handling payments, and addressing customer inquiries or concerns promptly. A commitment to quality service and teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

•Greet and seat customers in a friendly and professional manner.

•Present menus, explain daily specials, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences.

•Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.

•Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.

•Monitor tables to ensure guests are satisfied with their meals and service.

•Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.

•Follow health and safety regulations, including good hygiene practices and proper clothing, shoes, and jewelry guidelines.

•Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.

•Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, and utensils, using dishwashing equipment as needed.

•Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

•Clear and clean tables after guests have finished dining.

•Reset tables for new guests, including placing clean tableware and condiments.

•Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables and utensils.

•Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.

•Performs all other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent

•Must be over 21 years of age

•Obtain and Maintain SNHD Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card.

•Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred.

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.

•Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.

•Availability to work flexible hours is required, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

•Ability to stand for long periods and carry heavy trays.

•Comfortable working in a busy environment.

•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift.

•Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
