Apprentice Bartender - Furnace Bar

POSITION SUMMARY:

It is the primary responsibility of the Apprentice Bartender to assist the bartenders by maintaining the level of supplies and products, as well as maintaining the overall cleanliness of the bar and all related areas. Secondary responsibilities include assisting the bartenders in processing food and drink orders and serving guests at the bar. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by providing service that is consistent with the company's core service standards and the overall brand attributes.
• Exhibit knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in Freedom Beat.
• Work cohesively with other team members to provide guests with a superior level of service and uncompromising guest experience.
• Assist bartenders and other staff in the dining room as necessary.
• Exhibit knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnishes for each drink.
• Maintain familiarity with all performers / bands schedules that will be playing in Freedom Beat to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Cleans all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintains equipment in good working order.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar and all related storage areas.
• Assist in processing requisitions from beverage vendors and/or any warehouse confirming all items were properly ordered and received.
• Assist in removing items from received requisitions and storing them in the appropriate locations.
• Follow proper receiving protocols and rotate all stock.
• Communicate with managers, co-workers and guests to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and other team members.
• Collaborate with the Management Team and bartenders to perform regular inventories, ascertain par levels for items, and compile beverage orders for the Management Team to place.
• Perform all other job-related duties as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a bar or similar environment.
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
• Applies industry best practices.
• Team player, service orientated, and supportive.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires mobility.
• Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
• Ability to grasp, lift, move, or push goods on cart/truck weighing a maximum of 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
• Follow all safety procedures as established by the company.
