Position Overview:
As a Part-Time Optometrist, you will provide routine eye exams, manage ocular disease, co-manage surgical patients, and support the overall eye health of our diverse patient population. This role is ideal for an optometrist who enjoys working in a medical setting and values collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and staff to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and preventative care
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
- Licensed to practice in New York State
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a medical/surgical setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in an ophthalmology or medically oriented optometry practice preferred. New grads welcomed!
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time position: 2–3 days per week (flexible scheduling available)
